TrafalgarSqare, too much to do with the buildings and the statues and the fountains and the people, but I tried to simplify, here is the result. For better effect, I cropped the painting, which is below, comments please. Thanks for l0oking.
This one is from my Cyprus visit last year. Just forgot the name of the Church which is in Nicosia, the human figures are Suba and Prasad (in real life, but not in the painting).
I am adding the reference photo also for comparison.
The small painting and the medium size painting-I am partial to the small one which I did first! It always happens, anything you do for the first time has the spontaneity and while trying to do it bigger, it looses the spirit or life along the way! Remakes are always a shade less beautiful from the originals! The first version- a small painting.
This is a sketch I did today, of a London street, the street (Whitehall) leading to the Parliament from T Square. I am posting the reference photo I used for this. Here is the photo:
Did this today, after 3 failed attempts of 'bigben in night'- which will never see light! A consolation piece! I am growing to like this one, had some tough moments doing this. Have a look! First one to come out of the new desk I set up! Took a long time though! Thanks for looking.
It is a long time, since I painted anything. I am back, completed 3 paintings of Dublin skyline, result of our visit to Dublin during Christmas. Reason for 3 of the same is I was trying to introduce some drama in a very placid scene, achieved it somewhat in the third one. Please comment on all three of them. One of them will go for framing! 1. This is a small one.
This is another Venitian painting, wanted to include the setting sunlight, the photo is taken in the evening so the actual painting is not correctly portrayed in the digital image, alas. Anyway, here it is. Comments welcome. Venice in sunset
Two paintings of the same subject, Venice, only slightly different from each other, ie, the horizontal boat replaced by three vertical ones to balance the composition. The mood and atmosphere I tried to convey are sunset/moonlight, everything subdued. Only 4 colours used for harmony. Here they are:
I made a painting of the sketch I posted recently, on half imperial sheet. The sky is a bit different, the sky in watercolor, if you are using wet in wet, is always a happy accident or sad disaster. This time it is OK. The rest was easy and the finished painting is here:
Hey up, you need to tell me if the composition sketch here makes a good painting? Need to know before attempting it bigger. Thanks.Firstly the reference photo:
Have not done a thing since Deepavali, ie after returning from Brussels and Leiden. Too many other things, the internet was not working for a week, very irritating. Finished another painting of the Gangaikonda Cholapuram temple. Here it is:
Here is a small painting from a Hyde Park spot. See the reference photo. How good is it for a composition, of course I can improve on the tree. Need your views, please.
